horizon house
|
This is a custom made exterior sign made for a condominium complex in the Hillcrest area. What makes it unique is it's innovative design.
Using aluminum panels, I split a panorama I took of a sunset at Bird Rock across three 24x36 panels, thus complimenting my deconstructive technique I use on my smaller pieces. The image of a horizon line is printed directly onto the aluminum panels and is staggered to match the changing elevation of the wall in front of the complex. It was printed on metal so it could be outdoors. Piercing through the panels are laser cut steel letters that spell out the name of the complex, with one of the O's circumferencing the setting sun. The letters are tack welded to lag screws which are attached to the rear support MDF panels and project away from the aluminum prints. The steel was left untreated to rust over time and weather as the vegetation grows around it, becoming one with it's surroundings. It was definitely a fun project to create and install, showcasing a different direction I am capable of taking my art & design. |
custom decor
Whether it be small panoramas hung in strategic fashion in a home, or monster wall sized pieces for an office, you can't go wrong decking out your place with my custom made pieces.
I have an abundant amount of amazing photos from all over the city and beyond...and as many of my clients have found out, if I don't have it, I will make it! I go on site to take the perfect shot and make it the perfect size. All of these clients were stoked to know I could make their pieces just the way they wanted it. That is what makes my art special. I can only go so far as to guess what people want to buy, the other 50% of the time they tell me exactly what they want, and I make it happen! |
